For travel contracts and ROTA placements that involve travel, the family covers the caregiver’s transportation, lodging, and meals while traveling. We’ll help you put these details in writing in your work agreement before the role starts.

For ROTA roles, we recommend starting 2–3 months before you need coverage, since you’ll be hiring more than one caregiver. For a travel contract, give us as much notice as you can; tell us your dates and we’ll let you know what’s realistic.

A rotational (ROTA) placement involves caregivers alternating scheduled periods of work and time off. For example, two nannies might rotate seven days on and seven days off, providing continuity of care through planned handoffs. The schedule and daily working hours are defined for each role.A travel contract is an assignment for specific dates during which a caregiver accompanies your family on a trip. Responsibilities, working hours, compensation, accommodations, and travel expenses are agreed upon before the assignment begins.The two can overlap—a ROTA nanny may also travel with your family during their scheduled rotation. We’ll help you determine which arrangement best fits your needs.

We present selected caregiver portfolios, coordinate interviews, and gather feedback to help you find the right fit.Once you select a caregiver, we help communicate your offer and coordinate the placement details so everyone has clear expectations before the role begins.

Every search is unique. Timing depends on the role, schedule, location, compensation, required experience, and caregiver availability.During your consultation, we’ll discuss your preferred start date and the factors that may affect your search. We keep you informed as we identify candidates and coordinate interviews.If you have fixed travel dates or an upcoming ROTA schedule to fill, contact us as early as possible so there is time for screening, interviews, and planning. Our priority is a thoughtful match that meets your family’s needs.

For our direct-hire placements, your family employs the caregiver and pays their compensation directly or through a household payroll provider. A-List manages the search and placement process, and our agency fees are separate from the caregiver’s wages.Your family and caregiver agree on compensation, schedule, responsibilities, and other employment terms before the role begins. We help coordinate those discussions and can discuss payroll setup support if needed.For ROTA and travel contracts, we clarify the hiring and payment arrangement, along with travel expenses and accommodations, before the assignment begins.

A $495 Search Initiation Fee is due after you sign the Search Agreement and before your personalized search begins. This fee is non-refundable and is credited in full toward your placement fee upon hire.Placement fees, payment terms, and any optional services are outlined in your Search Agreement and reviewed with you before you commit. For ROTA and travel contracts, we’ll explain the fees applicable to your specific search.

Our support continues after your caregiver starts. For long-term placements, we check in with families and caregivers at one week, 30 days, 60 days, and 90 days to answer questions, celebrate what’s working, and address concerns early. For ROTA and travel contracts, we coordinate check-ins around the assignment’s schedule and duration.You can also reach out when you need guidance with communication, expectations, or settling into a new routine.If a placement ends unexpectedly, we’ll review the circumstances with you and explain any replacement-search support available under your Search Agreement. Our goal is to help families and caregivers build a positive working relationship and feel supported along the way.
